Happy things:

Visit from berkeleyfarm, who brought truffles (OHMIGOD) and lemon bars (DITTO).

Got a few more contract gigs. Eventually, this thing will keep us in skittles and beer.

My mother finally gave my sibling a move-out date. This will be good for everyone, including the sibling, but especially for the Munchkins.

I am seeing you being kept in skittles and beer almost like it was a tank full of beer and skittles. The thought disturbs me somewhat. I don't know if that's because you are in a tank of beer when you have a perfectly good apartment to keep yourself in, or because the thought of Skittles and beer is just Not Right.
