So we really could have used stonebender, rmjwell, someotherguy, and various other pop-culture geeks tonight. I had a blast while feeling dumb as a stump, and we came in dead last. Tons of fun, though -- thanks, wild_irises and sogwife.

If you're up for it, come next week and help us out, y'all.

That sounds really fun, and you definitely need a pop-culture geek at those things! The one trivia night sort of thing I've done was a pub quiz at a pub in England. We also came in dead last - but we were the highest scoring dead last team in the pub's history, dagnabbit! They made us put on dunce caps and drink unidentifiable shots of something, then took our picture and put it up on their website.

We would have passed it off as cultural knowledge base differences, except that one of the questions was about how many rows of stars there are on the US flag. We had to draw a diagram on our napkins - and we still got it wrong.
