So tomorrow's my last day posting to LJ. I'll still be reading my friendslist here, of course, and commenting, and stuff, but all my posts will be to Dreamwidth, username serene (if you're not there, you can read my posts at

Why did you decide to switch?

I don't really feel like maintaining two journals. One's enough for me, even though I'm poly. ;-) And Dreamwidth is Just. So. Nifty.

Some reasons I think so:

Plus, the development team is predominantly female and geeky and community-minded, which I like, and it already feels more amenable to my way of doing things than LJ does. No bans on breastfeeding pics! Non-defensive, responsive staff! Fluffy bunnies!

I'm on DW and have added you now that I've found your username. I'm probably going to cross-post a lot but from DW as a base. I'll still be reading at both sites for the foreseeable future.

Trying to add your RSS feed to my LJ friendslist returns a 500 server error. I hope this doesn't bode ill.

Nope. I will be tracking those posts, however, so comments will reach me (but not be linked to the conversation going on in my DW).

And you, Missy Ma'am, have my email address, and we should find a way to see one another some time, too. You going to Wiscon next year?

Ditto. I'll subscribe to the feed, but with limited sit-down time, I often just read the people on LJ, filtering out feeds and communities (using the ?show=p).

I don't have the energy nor the inclination to switch.

I'm also loracs on DW. I am posting on DW, but I'm only using it as a back-up for LJ, so all my posts are cross posts. At this point, I don't plan on following people on DW - I agree 2 journals are one too many for me. Unless I find a compelling reason to switch completely, I will probably keep it this way. Thanks for the heads up, I'll add your feed to my LJ.
