First birthday schwag of the year

In keeping with the "life with meaning" theme of my 42nd birthday, check out what someotherguy got me. Because, really, Rabbit With Big Pointy Teeth slippers, complete with certificate of authenticity? What could be more meaningful?

If I had had a really true concept of just how freakin' far haleth lives from me, I might have tried to dissuade her from coming over tonight, but I'm sort of glad I didn't. She's great, as are her kids, and I had a lot of fun meeting them -- and eating, playing games, etc.

My birthday week has been a flurry of social activity, and so far, though I'm a bit wiped out, I'm having a blast. Thanks to everyone who's been such a sport and made me feel all cared about and stuff.
