Oh, my goodness!
I am not, in general, a huge fan of nature photography. Three people so far have managed to make me fans of their work, even though they do a lot of nature photography. I am going to link to them here, but the big excitement is in the last paragraph, so skip to that if you wish.
In no special order, they are:
piranha, who has an eye for both beauty and interesting ugliness, and who took both the stunning cover of my magazine this quarter, and my favorite photo of rust, ever, and who knew I'd ever have a favorite rust photo. Zie has shared literally hundreds of photos on zir journal, and I honestly am in awe.
edbook, whose photos now live here, I think.
And the one I've actually met in person,
joedecker, whose stuff is simply amazing, but don't just take my word for it. Spend an hour or so cruising around his gallery and you'll see. Anyway, now you can vote to send him back to Antarctica on Quark's dime. This is a tremendous opportunity for a great photographer (I don't say "great" lightly here) and a really good guy.
