(no subject)

A friend of mine, who is one of the best people in the world, is about to adopt a baby. I'm so happy for her I could cry. Yeah, that's why I'm crying. Let's go with that.

(But I am happy for her, I really am.)

I'm sending [livejournal.com profile] someotherguy home with some hugs.

Oh, and you know that they poop, right?

[identity profile] serenejournal.livejournal.com 2008-08-30 03:46 pm (UTC)(link)
Hee! Yes, and at this point, I don't actually *want* a baby, exactly, but I still long for one, especially when I've got my period. :-)

I, on the other hand, both long and want one, although realistically now is not the time. I'm barely solvent enough to support myself, financially I can't handle it.

Yay for other people having babies. :-)

(I hope that doesn't offend anyone.)

[identity profile] serenejournal.livejournal.com 2008-08-30 05:10 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, if we're just talking about desire, I want one and always have. But for me, "really want" has to involve feeling ready and able to do it. Does that make sense?

[identity profile] serenejournal.livejournal.com 2008-08-30 05:11 pm (UTC)(link)
Doesn't offend me. Much as I've always loved babies and wanted one, OPC (Other People's Children) are the best kind of all. ;-)

And that is why you would make a good mom. Because there is more to being a parent that the biological ability.

Yes! Perfect sense, in fact, because that's how I feel too. :)

Most definitely!

Sounds good to me.

ah, those hormonal surges that scream *MUST*HAVE*BABY*

it happened most strongly for me at age 24 and then at age 33.

then I became a part-time mom at age 40 for 10 years, til she grew up and didn't need me (sniff) and I LOVED the experience, and it was just what I wanted.

I'm glad you clarified yourself as the comments unfolded, cuz I had a different impression of what you were saying when I just read the opening post.

What impression did you have?
