...is a musical quiz I got from [livejournal.com profile] epi_lj. What you're supposed to do is list ten musical acts you've seen live, and after that, look at the questions under the cut and answer them.

Here are mine:

1. John Gorka
2. Joan Baez
3. Richard Shindell
4. Indigo Girls
5. Shawn Colvin
6. Erykah Badu
7. Mary Chapin Carpenter
8. Wynnona
9. Bob Seger and the Silver Bullet Band
10. Jennifer O'Connor

Song you wish you'd seen number 2 (Joan Baez) perform?
I would have loved to hear "Luba, the Baroness", but that's a LONG song, and I didn't expect to hear it.

How many times have you seen number 3 (Richard Shindell)?
Just the once, but I'd go again, for sure.

Where did you see number 9 (Bob Seger) play?
The Sports Arena in San Diego, I'm pretty sure. I was maybe 15 at the time.

Favorite song number 8 (Wynnona) played?
Girls With Guitars

Who did you see number 7 (Mary Chapin Carpenter) with?
Just herself, unless I'm forgetting an opening act.

Favorite venue you've seen 4 (Indigo Girls) play?
I've only seen them play once so far, at Lilith Fair, which was at the San Diego County fairgrounds. Huge venue, and I was way too far from the stage.

Favorite concert moment from number 6 (Erykah Badu)?
There was some moment when she said that people sometimes said she was full of herself, and she said something sassy like how great it was to be full of something so fantastic. Also, she did a really sultry version of this fun song called Call Tyrone.

Best thing about number 1's (John Gorka) performance?
The best part of his actual performance was either the music itself or his geeky patter. The best part of one of the concerts I went to was when I passed him a note from [livejournal.com profile] elisem and he got all flustered and stammery.

Why did you go to see number 10 (Jennifer O'Connor)?
She was opening for Richard Shindell. I thought she was wonderful, and I'm glad I picked up one of her CDs ([livejournal.com profile] stonebender probably paid for it).

How many times have you seen number 2 (Joan Baez)?
Just once, and I've had the chance a couple times since, but have passed it up. I would *really* love to see her again.

Where did you see number 8 (Wynnona) perform?
The San Diego County Fair

Best cover song you've seen from number 9 (Bob Seger)?
I can't parse whether this question is looking for them doing a cover of someone else's song or someone else doing a cover of their song. Either way, I don't think I have an answer.

Would you go to see number 7 (Mary Chapin Carpenter) again?
YES!

Song you never really liked until seeing number 1 (John Gorka) in concert?
There are only a couple songs of his that I don't like, and I didn't like them after seeing them, either.

Which albums do you own from number 6 (Erykah Badu)?
None.

Worst thing about number 3's (Richard Shindell) concert?
Oh, I was enraptured with the concert, which was nearly perfect. The only bad spot was when I spilled my root beer all over me and [livejournal.com profile] stonebender.

The only three songs that number 4 (Indigo Girls) would have to play to make a concert?
Least Complicated, Closer to Fine, and Shame on You (but really, anything)

How far did you travel to see number 1 (John Gorka)?
A few miles each time.

How was number 5's (Shawn Colvin) show?
The first time, it was good, but short. She was part of Lilith Fair, and it was the day before she left the tour to go have her baby. The second time, it was great, but sad. Cute-poet-chick and I were about to break up, and Colvin doesn't exactly do shiny-happy. It was a really wonderful concert, though.

What happened the night of number 1's (John Gorka) show?

Besides the concerts themselves, I don't really remember. I do remember liking the Freight a lot -- it was the first time I'd attended a concert there.
