Last summer I enjoyed mixed to moderately successful results with inverted, hanging tomatoes. Think of the method as a plant protruding from a hole in the center of a bucket. (My planter is square and supports one plant from each quarter.) I also planted herbs and flowers in the exposed soil on top. This year I'll expand the herbs and forget the flowers.
