sereneI felt so corporate yesterday, staying late at the office to finish submitting the final report. :-) Was bummed that it meant I bailed on hanging with ![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
golden_c_turtle, but it was very exciting and satisfying to hang out in the office, helping my bosses tweak the spreadsheet, doing the grunt work, and (I hope) reducing some of their stress. One of my bosses said that I probably saved her 9 or 10 hours of work this year, and that none of the glitches we ran into tonight with the upload were problems with my data entry or anything.
And the VERY LOUD rap music with MANY, MANY loud f-bombs in it? This overamplified, eardrum-rattling music right outside our window that went on the ENTIRE time we were trying to think hard enough to submit this IMPORTANT DOCUMENT to the FEDERAL GOVERNMENT? Stopped just as we submitted the thing. The good result made the awful headache less distressing.
Better than the good result, though, was the feeling of camaraderie. On the heels of the fun work potluck and a nice visit to an artist who may be doing a cover for the magazine, it was a very good and socially draining day.
And all this time,someotherguy was scrambling around to make chicken pot pie, and getting thwarted at every turn. It turned out really well, though, and sogwife made the roasted-pumpkin pie! I felt so loved. My dual Laura Petries, serving up dinner at 8:30 at night because I was off submitting a report to the Feds. How sweet is that?
