Sparky is very cute. I'm sure Pippin would LOVE to play, but suspect she would be the only one who would enjoy it.

eeeeeeeeeee, cute!
(my father always used to say that if you picked up a guinea pig by its tail then its eyes would fall out. It took me a long time to realize the logical problem with that, but in my defense I was very small. <3)

Very cute. Looks like he's a Peruvian—so was our first guinea pig, and we didn't realize that this needs special care. Her long hair kept getting filthy and matted, and this annoyed her to the point that she would get very hostile if you touched her rear quarter. Once we started bathing her and giving her a haircut every three to six months, she was much happier.

As to food, ours always loved carrots, and apples and celery will likely be a big hit too. If you have pesticide-free grass growing outside your home, try trimming some with scissors and feeding him a handful. Ours loved it (St. Augustine in particular, Bermuda grass was less tasty, apparently).

How often would you suggest bathing him, and how did you go about it?

We'd do it every few months, if they seemed kinda stinky. As to how, we used a shallow flat-bottomed sink, so they could stand up with their rear feet on the bottom and their front feet on the lip. Then, gently wash them with warm water from a cup and a bit of non-toxic kids shampoo, rinse them off, dry them off with a towel and carefully blow-dry them on low, so they're not sitting around cold and wet (as guinea pigs have an unfortunate tendency to get sick and keel over—they're not very hardy and tend to lose their appetite when sick—Patches got to be over six years old by being voraciously hungry at all times).

Also, you gotta give them guinea pig-specific pellets, it's formulated for them. I gave my guinea pig rabbit pellets once over a period of time not realizing, and the nutrition mix is wrong. Your sweetie will be a pal for a long while, I'm sure! They are soooo great.

We're giving him guinea-pig pellets, timothy hay (with a little oats thrown in to get him to eat the hay, but he likes the hay), fresh fruits and veggies. Are we missing anything, do you know?

Sounds right. Long as he gets the guinea-pig pellets, he's good. We used to give our guys oatmeal containers cuz the tube was the right size for them. Whatever they like, and a rub between the ears to make them thrum and purr, eh, mmmm.... Love a good guinea pig, I do.

Oh, he's adorable! Look at his wee face, I want to smooch him.

In terms of a permanent cage, have you looked into the C&C cages? Very easy to build (I build them myself) and just great for guinea pigs.

Yeah, that's what we're gonna do. We're using http://www.guineapigcages.com/ as a guide. Does that look right to you?

Yeah, that's a great site! You will find these so easy to build, it's really fun and piggies love them.

I want to hug your pig.

Hay hay and more hay. You can't give him too much really.
