Hi, gang,

My surgery's in a week and my house is a pit. Would anyone like to come keep me company some evening this week (or any time Sunday) while I try to:

1) get the kitchen clean; or
2) box up and ready for mailing the last several boxes of booksale books; or
3) clear away the general clutter; or
4) clean the bathroom; or
5) clean the bedroom?

If you want to clean, I won't say no, but it's not necessary. Mostly, I need motivation, and having someone over is often enough motivation for me. I really really really want the place habitable before my surgery, because I really want to come home from the hospital to a clean house, and not feel any need/desire to jump right up and start cleaning things.

(p.s., I know it doesn't really matter in the scheme of things if my house is messy. I'm not a bad person for having a really super messy house. But it adds to my peacefulness when my surroundings are tidy, and I can't really even see tidy from here.)

I think I can do that, Friday or Saturday. I will need to be reminded where your place is. Saturday might be better, because I expect coming up Friday evening would run into horrible rush-hour sort of traffic, yeah?

I would also be quite happy to help with 1, 2, 3, or 5.

Thanks!

Either evening would work for me (I'll be at [livejournal.com profile] stonebender's during the day on Saturday).

Sending email with the address. Also, please consider this an "if T's energy and stuff are at a good level on that day" thing, not an obligation you can't bail on, 'kay? It's a long way to travel just to watch me clean my house. :-)

I would be happy to help ... would inspire me to get busy with my own. I'm free evenings this week - meditation teacher is still in India.

Oh, thank you! Pick any night, and don't worry about coordinating it with me -- just drop by; you know where I live. :-)

(Thursday I won't be home until at least 6; the other days, I'll be home all evening with the exception of quick walks, but if you get here and I'm not here, the teenager will let you in, and you can call my cell at 510-780-6630 and I'll come right home.)

Thus the "think". :) But Saturdays are pretty predictable.

I could come by if you're starting tonight and if the initial inspection of my old apartment this afternoon doesn't turn up anything I need to work on for much time.

OK, let's shoot for tomorrow. The 6 pm start time isn't a problem as I am usually at my office in Alameda at the time.

Cool, thanks. No worries if you don't make it. Just inviting people is helping me feel the motivation. :-) (And beware -- my house is worse than you've ever seen it.)

Just a warning: The teenager is being extra-annoying tonight, so you might want to take a pass unless you're feeling extra-mellow.

And now she appears to have snapped right out of it. :-)

Can I bail on you? I've worn myself out. :-)

Aw, already? Darn. I guess that's what happens when I pick the very latest time slot.

I hope the surgery goes well.
