If I pay too much attention to 911 media this weekend, I will end up a frothing, ranty annoyance, talking about actuarial tables, the consequences of security theater, the racism inherent in the American system, and exactly how many people die from terrorism vs. suicide, secondhand smoke, or prescription drugs. Trust me, you do not want this.

What I'd like to get done this weekend: Fix up my schooldesk area. Read a couple chapters in each of my schoolbooks (have already done so for grammar). Study for the GRE (which I take on Tuesday). Do laundry.

What I have to get done this weekend: Nothing. Fuck-all. Zilch. Well, I should, like, eat and drink and stuff.

(There's plenty of food in the freezer; there are enough clean clothes to make it to next weekend; I have already aced the GRE practice exam, so more studying is gravy; etc.)

I so completely hear you about 9/11 media. I got up this morning and checked one news website to make sure that nothing awful had happened (didn't really think it would, had to still the worrier in my brain). Now I plan to stay as much away from news all day as I usually do, including skipping 9/11 posts from friends.
