I'm not really a member of the "oooh, Alan Rickman!!!" club, though part of the reason for picking him would be to make a shameless bid for that constituency. I did like him in the three movies I've seen him in, though -- Galaxy Quest, Dogma and Harry Potter -- three unconventional male roles that definitely let him chew up the scenery, express emotions and get good use out of his fine voice and face. If he played a totally conventional leading man in a totally conventional movie, though, I probably wouldn't be interested
