Cookies?

Probable menu for the party next weekend:

Lots of good cheese and fruit and crackers and stuff (maybe bruschetta, depending on how much last-minute-ing I feel like doing)
Foofy coffee drinks
Italian sodas
Cookies
Something hot: fondue? chili? soup? dunno.
Fresh bread, if it comes out well

So what I wanna know is this: what's your favorite cooky recipe? The chocolate-chip ones in the Kitchenaid booklet have already been recommended to me, but I'd like to try another, too. What cookies do you make that everyone really likes? They don't have to be super-easy or super-fast to make, but they have to be *yummy*.

Too tired to do much but babble about myself a little. I will get back to all the generous cooky-recipe people tomorrow, and so on.

1) Had a wonderful day with stonebender. I dragged him out of the new Denzel movie ("Man on Fire") -- if anyone's willing to tell us the end, please email it to me. I couldn't take it any more. Other than that, wonderful afternoon and evening. Love him so much.

2) Have lots to do before the housewarming, but I know myself and know it will get done, so I'm not gonna stress.

3) This is me not stressing.

4) I've done something a little dumb, okay a lot dumb, that could end up fine or could be a disaster. Now to decide if I'm willing to look ungenerous or mean in order to fix it.

5) Off to bed so I can go to work without being a zombie tomorrow. Laundry day tomorrow, and puttering, then more puttering on Tuesday, afternoon with Aahz (and possibly firecat) on Wednesday, more puttering on Thursday... you get the drift. Hoping to also do a bit of baking on Thursday or Friday, and Friday I need to do some serious shopping for the party. I know it may sound like I'm stressing, but I'm not -- this is fun for me.

6) Wondering why I'm numbering these.

7) stonebender just bought a new computer game -- may not see him surface for a few weeks. ;-)
