Gonna spend a relaxing (I hope) day with Munchkin The Younger, cleaning house and hanging out. We're at home tonight, relaxing and snacking and watching DVDs. I don't care much about artificial milestone-y things, but to those of you who do, happy new year!

Sent sogwife and Munchkin The Younger off to the movies (and an errand sogwife had to do). We had not planned to do so, but someotherguy and I made an attempt at the first noisy sex we've been able to have in a couple of weeks, but that was aborted when they had to come home for more info on the errand. Didn't take the munchkin long to figure out what had been (almost) going on while they were gone. Now I'm gonna clean my house. May try again once it's clear they're ensconced at the movies. My life doesn't suck.

Cleaning is slow going, but pleasant. Did something to my thumb, so I have to be careful of it, but I'm enjoying finding places for things. It's a lot easier since someotherguy cleaned out the storeroom. Finding LOTS of fun stuff for the White Elephant exchange on the 7th (folks are welcome to come on the 8th, too, to see if anything's left -- it's like a free garage sale. ;-)

I feel so lucky. Not for anything in particular, just for my life in general.

stonebender and Carol got me two wonderful not-christmas gifts: my new toy -- I can finally grind my own flour and polenta and and and; and my new porn: A hefty volume called Best Ever Indian Cookbook, with pictures on every recipe, which I love. stonebender was happily amused at my complete infatuation with the book -- I can't stop thumbing through the pages. Munchkin The Younger and I are gonna make something out of it tonight or tomorrow.

The house is not exactly clean, but it's not too terribly embarrassing. Munchkin The Younger and sogwife are still at the movies, my thumb/wrist are in too much pain to do much more work, and I got what I was looking for earlier (and how), so I think I'm gonna retire to the sofa with my new cookbook and the manual for my grinder. If folks show up tonight (I'm not counting on it, but it could happen), I'll go out for a beverage run. Otherwise, I may not stir for the rest of the evening.
