1) Alt.polycon looms and it's gonna be FUN.

2) Haagen-Dazs has a new light coffee ice cream (no artificial junk, just less fat) and I LOVE it. The regular stuff had started to taste too fatty to me.

3) I need to take a cooler to San Diego so I can buy my mom all kinds of fun Ikea food. Especially the many kinds of pickled herring. She'll love it!

4) IM time with [livejournal.com profile] golden_c_turtle, [livejournal.com profile] stonebender, and [livejournal.com profile] firecat today. An embarrassment of riches.

5) I have worked it out so that I no longer work two jobs (14+ hours) in one day. I still work almost every day at one job or the other, but not both. Yay, me! Yay, healthy boundaries!

6) I am officially a full-timer at Ikea (that means 20+ hours a week), so my benefits, when they start this week, are gonna be dirt cheap. *huge sigh of relief* (Anyone need a job? They're hiring. ;-)

Here I sit at the greatest temp job in the world, being all happy. It's
one of those I-can't-believe-they-pay-me-to-be-here things, y'know?
Friendly cow-irkers, great students, lots of customer-service work, and
full web access. How could it be better? Oh, yeah, they could hire me.
But anyway, I'm liking Ikea okay these days, and my benefits start on
Saturday, so things are definitely livable.

I took off a whole week to accommodate the apc trip. I'm getting really
excited. We're leaving on Wednesday and coming back late Sunday, so I
took off from Tuesday through Monday. W00t!

This past week, I've been too busy to read or post much here, but I had a
nice visit with [livejournal.com profile] dryadgrl that was chock-full of laughter -- I
love it when that happens. And my partners have been *excellent* about
taking care of me while I've been uber-busy. I am lucky.

Tonight is the spoken-word thing. Come get coffee and yummies. I will be
your bestest friend.

Saturday, my plans are these:

1) Spend a few hours helping [livejournal.com profile] golden_c_turtle move.
2) Spend the rest of the day in bed, reading.

On the reading list:

1) Finish re-reading The Sweet Potato Queens' Big-Ass Cookbook and
Financial Planner
-- I just love it, even though it could be read as
fat-hating if I didn't have a good sense of humor about it

2) Re-read Juniper, Gentian, and Rosemary -- a good
lounging-at-home book for me

3) Read the new copies of The Scientist and TV Guide

4) Start something new. Been buying books a little bit lately, so it'll
just mean picking something. Maybe I'll post a list when I get home and
y'all can make suggestions.

...of how fabulous tonight will be? You will be in the company of many
talented and excessive LJers: Me, [livejournal.com profile] charliegrrrl, [livejournal.com profile] vito_excalibur, [livejournal.com profile] someotherguy, [livejournal.com profile] stonebender, [livejournal.com profile] sogwife, and possibly [livejournal.com profile] loracs and [livejournal.com profile] dbubley. Even
more if you come. Do, won't you? It'll be a blast. And I'll read poems
with dirty words in them, Just. For. You.

I mean, I'm not supposed to tell students they're hot, right?

'cause I didn't, but Oh, Man. She was HOT.

Think Shane on The L Word.

Oh, man.
