Did
the American Army win that war? Yes it did. Did it torture prisoners along
the way? Maybe a few, but not many and not in any systematic or official
way. We spent a lot of money to keep Germans in prison camps, and a lot
more rebuilding the nation after the war. We were restrained and we were
generous.

Restraint and generosity do not seem to be hallmarks of this
administration.

(no subject)

Bleary-eyed from the proofing I've been doing for work, so I'm giving it a
rest until lunchtime, when I'm going to go with some co-workers to the
best little sushi place. After work, mom and someotherguy and I
are going to stonebender's so mom can cook them a couple of
2-inch-thick steaks. She says she wants to do something nice for stonebender because he's been so good to me. I'm lucky.

1. I hate poultry (haven't eaten Thanksgiving turkey in 25 years or more), but love poultry skin and organs (chicken hearts, chicken livers, etc.)
2. I really really really dislike wearing socks, and only do so if my toesies are gonna freeze.
3. I don't like chocolate, and even worse is chocolate with *fruit* -- bleah!
4. I am almost incapable of passing up walking on raised surfaces -- retaining walls, bus benches, etc.
5. I count how long things take sometimes. For a few years, I counted how many seconds it took me every time I peed.
6. The sound of geeks talking about geeky things is erotic to me.
