Jul. 31st, 2006 02:09 pmSo tomorrow, I head to San Francisco (the lovely and talented
someotherguy is gonna drive me to Burlingame, actually), and then the next day we all[*] fly to Japan. I'm neither nervous nor excited, as I don't tend to be until liftoff -- the steady work of getting ready for the trip tends to soak up that energy.
I'll try to remember to turn all my listservs off, but y'all? Y'all should keep writing and writing as if your lives depended on it, so that I have lots to read when I get home, because really, it's all about me me me. I'll be coming home early Thursday morning, and then I'll have until Monday before work. I imagine a fair bit of that will be spent prone, either sleeping or otherwise, and/or catching up on Usenet/LJ.
The thing that's currently getting me is the thought of sixteen days without my loves. I'll totally be fine, as will they, but I'm having a little separation anxiety. :-)
In the morning, I will print out the post where you tell me where to send you tacky postcards, so if you meant to do that, please do it tonight, or send me an email by the morning (California time).
I am not expecting to be online at all while I'm gone. I will, however, be taking two writing journals, and I hope to fill at least one of them. I have an idea for a novel that has nothing to do with Japan, and we'll see where it goes.
Have a ton of fun this month, everyone. I'll be back on the 17th.
[*] "We all" being eleven college students, five staffers, and two personal assistants (me and another woman).
