Yeah, I'm still up. I should do something about that. That'll teach me to overcaffeinate. Then again, I managed a 13-hour drive not much the worse for wear.

Laurie Anderson rocked socks, of course. As did my hosts, pipyn and snippy (and her darling sinanju), and my darling kightp, and the lovely and generous ElderNedDearheart, and the equally lovely Larsi, and the adorable (read: hot) and funny nmc. I am almost certain to have missed someone, because I am really really tired; I apologize profusely.

Let's see, how much more can my brain decode? Um, Powell's was marvelous, of course. Travel incompatibilities with the travel companion were um a learning experience.

Just hit a total wall. Off to collapse now. *waves and smooches*

Things I did on my trip to Portland:

• Had a catered dinner in a rich couple's penthouse. Other than the view, I was over it in about five minutes -- I've reached a place in my life where riches don't tempt or impress me. Still, our hosts were amazingly hospitable, and I enjoyed the view *immensely*
• Shopped at Powell's -- amazing place
• Bought final_girl's eponymous book at Powell's
• Got out of Powell's for less than $60
• Saw Mt. Shasta for the first (and second) time
• Met nmc, sinanju, Ned, and Lars for the first time
• Got little mini-crushes on all of them
• Missed meeting pipyn and annburlingham's mom
• TrashedDished about absent motsseurs and sockbiters
• Ate the best fruit of my life, more than once
• Ate manchego cheese and quince paste for the first time
• Learned that I am able to maintain my boundaries *while being extremely flexible*
• Missed the living hell out of my partners
• Got to tell Laurie Anderson that cute-poet-chick and I used to wake each other with "Sun's coming up! Like a big, bald head!"
• Got to see the pirate bag in person
• Went to The Olive Pit and other cute country diners and stores. The Cornerstone in Dunsmuir even had a tofu scramble!
• Slept with the dead people watching me

Said in email to melanie after receiving a package in the mail today that contained her two scent-free offerings:

I'm so very thrilled to have new yummies to try. I'm usually sitting around in a corner all envious when people are getting their stuff from you and Lush and BPAL. Now I get my own yummies. :-)
