serene: true love (true love)
Four years ago, I began making happiness more important than just going along. [livejournal.com profile] stonebender is a large part of why I did that.

I love you, Guy. Happy anniversary!

From the [livejournal.com profile] altfriday5:

1. Which STDs do you routinely get tested for?

HIV and whatever else is involved in a "full screen".

2. When was your last test?

A little over a year ago.

3. Have you ever had an STD? Which one(s)?

Yes. HPV.

4. Have you ever had a "scare", where someone had or may have had an STD that might have been transmitted to you? If yes, tell us a bit about it.

Not really. We had a barrier failure, but we were relatively certain we were being overcautious about reinstating barriers, waiting, and getting re-tested. That's just what we do to be safe, but it was a fairly benign situation.

5. How knowledgable are you about STDs and testing for them? Are you happy with your level of knowledge? What were or are your primary sources of information about STDs?

I used to teach HIV awareness at the San Diego AIDS Foundation, and I try to keep up with current knowledge, but I could be better informed. I spend a fair bit of time on the CDC website, and other sources of STD information.

The Questioner says: Don't forget your links!

Happy birthday to my dear friend and ex-SLFT. I like you a whole lot, and hope this next year brings you much happiness, and maybe some wedded bliss.

The power has gone out briefly tonight -- just for a few seconds at a time. I have work to do on the computer, but I have to say I wouldn't mind a reading-by-candlelight evening, either.

Last night, I went through and tagged most of my oneword poems, and tonight I plan to play with them and see if they can be made into stuff I want to send out. On breaks from doing my paid work, of course.

If any wombabes are reading, the final dates for the Oakland Womboink are May 18-20, and there is crash space available for the days surrounding that weekend.

[livejournal.com profile] someotherguy has been plying me with throat-soothing tea all day and doing all the cooking. I know it's a little thing, but it is so comforting to be taken care of when I'm sick. I never used to like that, because people would fuss, rather than just being available to help out. Not that my mother and my ex-wife weren't sweet and all, but when I'm sick, I mostly want to be left alone.

I really like what I'm doing for a living now. I hope to continue for the long term.

Have a good night.

I just posted info about the Womboink Helpfund to the List. If you want to see the email and you're not currently getting listmail, comment here or send me an email, and I'll shoot it to you personally.

I kept trying to concentrate hard enough to do more paid work, but it's just not coming, and I can't stop coughing, so I may just hang it up for the night. That means this weekend and Monday will be a big push, but I can do it.

I did have enough brain power to clean up a few poems and submit eight of them. I'm happy with that.

Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] someotherguy and [livejournal.com profile] sogwife for the near-steady stream of lesbian sex.

I ended up submitting a total of eleven poems today. Go, me. Yes, go. Go to bed. Bed. Mmmmm, bed.
