Apr. 11th, 2007 02:08 pmDr. appointment today. All my numbers are nearly perfect, except for a slightly elevated triglyceride level. Oh, and C-reactive protein, but that's not as high as it was last time, so it's headed in the right direction. Blood pressure 120/80 or so; not anemic any more; etc.
He thinks the weird neurological-feeling symptoms are anxiety attacks. I will be pondering what to do about that, but he'll also want to hear from me if they get worse or change, or whatever.
When he found out I've got insurance now, he got all happy and relieved, because he can run some tests on me that I wouldn't be able to afford otherwise. I'm currently wearing a heart monitor (my in-office EKG was fine, but he wants to check on the palpitations, which have gotten worse lately). I'll be going for a stress test, a mammogram, x-rays of my hips (again), visits with a thyroid person and an ophthalmologist, and some more blood tests. He's writing me a prescription for my favored birth-control pill.
*And* when I gave him the newest study on how dieting doesn't work, he listened more than he usually does. I still may fire him after my newest tests come back, but I felt okay about being the body-acceptance poster child today.
I feel better already.
