Happy energy

Nothing special is happening [*], but I feel happy. It's really nice to be
back to my joyful self. The amount of stress and unhappiness in my life
lately was getting me down, as much because it's not my normal mode as
because of the events causing them.

Today, I'm at the Best Temp Job Ever again. I have lots to do with my
"day job", too, but that mostly has to wait until I get home.

The beauty of place

Decided to take a walk to make use of some of this new-crush energy
(ohmigod, the wayhot butch thinks I'm yummy, ohmigod!), and ended up
reminding myself of how much I fucking love this town. I love Berkeley,
and today, I think it loves me back.

Left my office on Sproul Plaza intending to take a walk down Telegraph,
but the heat of the sun enticed me into the bookstore first. One aisle
away, two cute, handholdy dykes of very young ages, looking all
summerhappy. Talked myself out of buying many things, because I cannot
afford, nor do I need, many things.

Moved into the quad, where I was swept away in the energy of this
wonderful drum section (part of a really mediocre college marching
band-let; maybe 20 members total). The hot fatchick banging the cymbals
was dancing like the best of all drum majorettes, and I could feel the
drums in my ribcage.

Did some more wandering, but kept coming back to this little group of
musicians, playing so loudly and earnestly, in the middle of a school
that's practically its own city.

I grew up in the suburbs, and on Navy bases. May I never forget how
incredibly lucky I am to live where I do, in (well, near) the heart of a
city I've loved since the day I heard of it, and where I finally landed.
