The Month of (near-)Solitude
Aug. 22nd, 2007 08:25 pmFor my birthday month (September), if you ask me to go do something with you, the answer is almost certainly going to be no, unless you're my partner or I've already made plans with you*. Open-door dinner policy is cancelled for the month; Craft nights are off, too.
I love y'all, and like hanging out with you, but I'm completely burned out, and I feel my hermitage calling me, so please don't feel hurt if I don't wanna hang out with you for a while. Catch me in October?
(By the by, I'm setting this theoretical deadline because I have a tendency to get mired in hermitage for years at a time, and though that hasn't happened in a long time, I feel like it's possible here. However, if October comes around and I still feel this way, I'll let ya know.)
NOTE: This month's Craft Night and Game Night are still on, and if you attend one or both, you get to meet (or see again) Munchkin The Younger, also known as
wtfpotatoes.

autographedcat,
jwermont, and

Aug. 22nd, 2007 08:34 pmIt's shameless of me to say it, but I'm really liking (so far) the poems I'm putting up in this thread. Writing these has proved to be a really joyful exercise for me, and I think that's in part because I am not pressuring myself to do them in a timely fashion.
There'll be new ones from time to time; bookmark 'em if you care. Oh, and it's never too late to add your comment and get a poem, even if you've already done so. I plan to keep that thread alive as long as I can.
