Party food

This Friday is the Halloween/Samhain party-slash-game-night at sogwife's. You should come.

Right now, I'm supposed to be working (I will, I will), but instead, I'm planning the food I'm taking to the party. Here's the menu so far, and I'm making shopping lists and stuff.

Me:

pumpkin soup
NYT bread (2 loaves; 1 for the spinach dip)
spinach dip
something else; haven't decided what yet. Stuffed winter squash? Any ideas?

sogwife:

popcorn balls
caramel apples
apple bread
salad
mulled cider

Me, to nice-but-vapid guy on the nudes site who wants to hook up: "Thanks for the compliments, but I don't feel any intellectual spark with you, and I'm really not interested, sorry."

Happy Anniversary!

My longest romantic relationship on record is with stonebender, with whom I'll reach the five-year mark in a few months.

That tiny little record is simply *eclipsed* by the longevity of his relationship with loracs, with whom he celebrates twenty-five years today.

You should see them together, if you haven't already. They're so married. They clearly adore each other. They tell their stories together in the cutest way, and they still make each other laugh and cry. They really truly miss each other on those rare occasions when they sleep apart, and they put themselves second to each other's needs on a regular basis*. When I was getting to be the shiny-new partner, I envied them their history, their stories, and their comfort.

May you live and love for decades still, you two. I love you both very much.


*I typoed "basis" as "babies". What the fuck is THAT about? ;-)
