This may take all day, and it's not exactly fun, but it feels good to be doing *something* after a week of relative idleness. someotherguy has offered to be my support staff for the day, and I cooked myself a casserole of potatoes, cabbage, and corn to be my sustenance for the day. This'll work, and I do NOT want to miss my deadline today, or I have to sit there quietly while golden_c_turtle is rude to the waitstaff. ;-)

I appear to be able to write a maximum of 1,500 or so words an hour, so I think it's mathematically impossible for me to make my goal today, but I'll keep plugging for a while. It's been kind of fun to rush like this for a few hours, anyway. :-)
