At least it's finally raining here. My aunt, who wanted Southern California to be hot and sunny, won't be thrilled, but I am, because it's raining at home, and now I get to walk in the rain while someotherguy walks in the rain, and rain makes me happy.

I don't even *like* chicken and noodle soup all that much, but at least it has a date that's well into the future. ;-)

good news/bad news

Well, the good news is that Dr. Wu doesn't send people home without doing a good blood workup first. You can probably guess the bad news.

She'll have a CAT scan today to figure out where the infection is, and I'm sure they'll get it under control. She actually doesn't sound all that disappointed; I think she's feeling that she is getting rest that she might not get once she's home. I, of course, will endeavor to make that not-true.

By the way, if I haven't mentioned it yet, there is no freaking way I could have gotten through this without my boyfriends. From sending me sweet messages to offering to pay for bus fare if I want to escape, they have been just the Platonic ideal of the supportive sweetheart, and I love them even more (which of course makes it even harder to be away from them, *sigh*).

Munchkin the Elder likes NYT bread (which I've been making, because it's easy), but he prefers the soft white sandwich bread I make with my bread machine. I didn't bring the machine, though, so I did a loaf by hand, and I'm hoping it comes out well. I have high hopes, but my hand-kneaded bread often has... issues.

I just started on the second of the two five-pound bags of bread flour they bought me a week or so ago. This kid really likes my bread. :-)

She has a little fluid in her left lung. They'll give her antibiotics & tomorrow she'll talk with her doc about what to expect.
