Thanks to everyone who expressed concern for me yesterday, here and in email. I think I may be a little depressed. I know that I feel overwhelmed by the things I perceive that I'm not doing well: parenting, the magazine, housekeeping, maintaining friendships. I'm normally pretty good at cutting myself slack, but it's not working this week as well as it usually does. I may talk about details later, or may not. But for now, I feel better than I did yesterday, and here's some good stuff:
1) The dermatologist fixed me up and my face is already much better
2)
stonebender is coming to take me to lunch!
3) I finally got paid ALL of my pay, and they're working on getting me my reimbursement for the bounce fees I incurred when my autopay paid out of a no-paycheck account
4) The kid, unbeknownst to me, sent my mother a birthday drawing and poem. She's a really great kid.
5) I love my new blouse (see below). Thanks, Mom!
6) Work is great, and I'll be able to get stuff done today because the office is mostly empty. I may even stay after closing to get the really distraction-free experience.
Anyway, thanks again. (And when I said I might dump my social life, I meant the in-person stuff, mostly. I could never quit you, Internet.)
