I'm always a big fan of the ultimate question on the Chicago Manual of Style's online Q&A, and sometimes I even remember to share them with you:

Q. I need help on how it would be easier to make a bibliography easier.

A. You could keep it short. You could find the references online and copy and paste them in so you don’t have to type them. You could buy some software that helps format bibliographies. You could ask your mom to do it.

Here are some things I would like help with. No pressure, but if anyone wants to help with any of these things, I would be super-grateful:

1) I need ideas for businesses to hit up for food donations for Disability Awareness Week at UC Berkeley*. The events are in the spring, but I've agreed to work on getting food donations starting now. We'll be drafting a letter of solicitation this week, so if you know any businesses that are especially friendly to this sort of thing, please let me know.

2) Or if you own or work for a business that sells food of any kind, and would be willing to donate some, please let me know.

3) I do not need, but would like, someone (or a few someones at different times -- it's a small place) to come over next weekend and help me patch and paint the walls in [livejournal.com profile] wtfpotatoes's (store)room.

4) I would like someone to lay out the Winter issue of the magazine in Open Office, by December 10th. I can only pay US$50 or a three-year subscription for this work, but if you think you'd be good at it and you'd like to do it, please let me know. I would get you all the material by the end of this coming weekend. It's a pretty easy job, but I'm maxed out right now. I have very few design restrictions (and those are just margin and number-of-page restrictions related to getting everything to print right), so you could use my template or create your own, depending on how creative you're feeling.

5) I need a home for the two newspapers we get every Sunday. I take the coupons out of them, and then they get recycled. There's only so much packing paper and fried-stuff-absorber I need. If you live near me and would read them (Oakland Tribune and San Francisco Chronicle), please let me know.

6) And while we're at it, if you get the paper but don't use the coupons, may I have 'em? I'll come pick 'em up.

(*If you would like to help with the food for Disability Awareness Week, but you would like to do that by donating money instead of food, please click the donate button.)

Me, to [livejournal.com profile] someotherguy: I'm a good person, even if I don't do anything for the rest of the night, huh?

Him: Sure! I'll be very cross with you, however, if you don't at least breathe once in a while.

So, yeah. Gonna breathe tonight. Maybe not much else. The pork roast is cooking, the magazine is getting later every minute, Joni Mitchell is singing "Court and Spark", and it's okay for me to just sit and do what I want for a couple hours before bed. So there.

How was your Monday?

There's no doubt that my relationship with Cute-poet-chick had its difficulties. But if you ever saw us together (and [personal profile] firecat did, along with a few others), you know we really adored each other. I love her still.

Someone on alt.poly posted a pointer to an old soc.bi page of poetry, and I re-read one that she and I wrote together. It all came rushing back. God, I loved her. I don't blame her for leaving me, but I think I'll go to my grave wishing I'd found a way to make it work.

*sigh*
