Good things
May. 17th, 2010 06:46 pmShitty weeks just scream out for lists of good things, don't they?
Well, it's easy to come up with them, so here are some:
1) It's easy to come up with a list of good things, so things must not be that bad
2) I have some extra time to do an odious task that I've been dragging my feet on
3) My mouth infection is going away on its own; the doc says it's looking good and should be all better in three to five days. It was herpes/cold sores, and it was pretty painful, but today, I'm able to eat foods that are less soft than mashed potatoes, yay!
4) The positive ANA test result that I was worried was, in his words, "just borderline positive, and not really a sign of anything bad, as far as we can tell so far". More tests in August.
5) There's a lovely pot of beef stew simmering on my stove, and my house smells divine.
6) A friend whom I hurt and angered this week appears to still want to be my friend.
7) My house is full of good food.
8) My kid did something sweet, but I have to scan something in to tell you about it, and that means switching to Windows (don't ask), so I'll do that in the next post.
9) My mom's coming up in a couple of weeks!
10) Even though I won't have my tax refund in time to pay for my dental surgery on the 2nd of June, I'll be able to have it, because my mom's going to float me the money.
11) I will be finished with the gift I'm knitting in time to see its recipient tomorrow. I'll try to remember to take pics. I like it a lot.
12) My boyfriends are being really sweet to me during this rough time. So is my kid (see #8). So are all of you. I am very fortunate, even in the tough times.
