This summer
Apr. 12th, 2013 05:03 pmI fell into editing in my 20s because I told the temp agency it was one of my skills, and they started sending me on editing jobs. UC Berkeley Extension has a four-course "Professional Sequence in Editing" that I have wanted to take for years, but it was too expensive. Now, though, we (Cal employees) can take a bunch of courses for free, including these. I took the first in the sequence last year, and now they're offering the next one. Free. And it's this summer.
I knew instantly that I'd rather take that than a train trip, so I'm postponing my graduation trip up the coast until next summer, so that I can finish this series of courses this year, on The Best Job Ever's dime. I'd really love to get this professional development, and the price is right!
