The Best Job Ever
Jul. 7th, 2009 01:40 pmThe Best Bosses Ever took me to lunch today*, and it just reaffirmed for me what a difference it makes to work for good people. I have had literally hundreds of jobs, and only two that I was willing to go from temp to permanent employee for (the shipyard and this, The Best Job Ever). I've worked for bosses who were good people but terrible managers. I've worked for people I had no respect for, who could manage a department well. It's really rare to get this combination of people I really like and respect, and people who really know their stuff professionally.
I am a lucky person.
(*Foodie friends will appreciate my lunch: A stunningly good bisque of roasted cauliflower and cubed parsnip, a salad with really fresh greens, including an excellent arugula, and a few slices of seeded baguette. Delightful.)
