Today's oneword.

The candle went out.
Stopped being, stopped flickering, stopped.
And I sat there, looking at the charcoal wick,
waiting for the light to return
longing for the small bit of warmth it had brought

I didn't get up and turn on the lightswitch
That wouldn't be magical enough
