A friend was noticing that his profile on a web forum said he was female. I helped him change it to male. Here's what he said:

"Wow, radical surgery. I had just rolled it over
to undeclared in order to ease through the
transition. I mean let's face it, in that moment
my salary and prospects for advancement just
increased dramatically, I have a broad base of
representation in government, and I can wear
comfortable shoes no matter what the occasion.
What a wonderful day!"

Don't you just adore men who are clued in about gender? :-)

I feel sorry for him, though. I can't imagine what it would feel like to have to step DOWN a rung in the chain of evolution. heh... :-)

Heh. I think he can handle the pain.

I thought it was only heterosexual women who weren't allowed to wear comfortable shoes--learn something all the time.

*chuckle*

My new workboots are almost broken in, but I wouldn't call 'em comfy yet. ;-)

Do let me know if you find a cute one that I haven't already dated...

Will do, sweetcheeks. *smooch* (Not that I'd know who you'd dated and who you hadn't.)

My eight-year-old Arthur likes to change his profile information back and forth between male and female every so often -- he thinks it is kind of amusing and that it doesn't matter what he puts in a field like that anyway.

You don't find it just as offensive when people are sexist against people who aren't female?

1) I don't agree with your premise.

2) No, I don't.

3) I don't really have the energy for this discussion today, but if you want to pursue it, we could perhaps do it another day.

Absolutely!

Do you think your friend would mind if I saved this in a quote file and/or reposted it in my own journal?

Nope, but he did say he might've lifted some pieces of it. :-)
