sereneWent and saw David Sedaris last night (thanks, cute-poet-chick), and I am even more in love with him than ever before. Do yourself a favor, and get your hands on his books on tape, so you can hear him read them to you. That's the way to experience Sedaris. I'm such a fangirl where he's concerned.

I'm sorta the same way about Ira Glass on NPR, though I can actually listen to him for a while before suddenly he is too much for me.
The worst was when I turned on the car radio to find Ira Glass interviewing David Sedaris. Oh, my poor ears!
Maybe there is just a certain gene that allows one to appreciate Mr. Sedaris' voice.

session. His answers were thoughtful and full of a sense of his
conscience and values, and I loved it. Then he offered everyone
voter registration forms, which he does at all his concerts, and
promoted a book by another author, Birds of America by Lorrie
Moore -- he says he always picks a book to promote on his tours.
The exerpts he read were really good, and I'm going to order the
book from the library.
The book he's working on (finishing up, it sounds like) is going
to be called "How to Dress Your Family in Courduroy and Denim."
Oh, and he met a 14-year-old girl in the booksigning line and asked
her to introduce him, and she said yes. That was very charming.
