I just want to say that I giggled when I saw that you sort the alphabet exactkly the same way I do. And, I'm willing to bet, to the same tune!

Is there more than one tune? In America, I mean? (There is a second tune I heard in the munchkin's kindergarten class once, but I hadn't heard it before, and haven't since.)

Yes, I guess I do, too, though w x y and z is slower, so it could feel like a pause to me or just a tempo change. Music geek. :-)

The term, "killer app," has been so widely misapplied as to have very little useful meaning anymore, other than simply, "a computer program you think is really good." However, historically it meant a software application that would drive a market or open a niche into a larger, self-sustaining market. Examples include GigaSampler, which created the software-based sampling/synthesis market, ProTools, which really drove the PC-based digital audio workstation market, Lotus 1-2-3, which really drove the acceptance of the IBM PC in business, Photoshop, which really sustained Apple through some hard times, etc.

Oh, I see. Thanks. Well, right now, the thing I'm grooving on is the Unix terminal on my new OSX laptop. :-)

*hehe* Which one? I'll have to be jealous. :) The Terminal is very nice, but I dunno if it qualifies as a killer app. ;)

I've played around with Terminal and the other one, ummmmm, forget what it is called. XTerm? Anyway, since I don't game or anything, I think my exposure to killer apps is limited.

Hm. Most "Killer Apps," aren't games (including all the ones mentioned above). I haven't tried Xterm, but I did try iTerm or something like that for a little while. I do find OSX's default Terminal to be quite nice.
