From [livejournal.com profile] sistercoyote, via [livejournal.com profile] firecat, some answers stolen.

01. What is your name, birthdate and birth place?
Serene, 9/20, Connecticut

02. Blood type and Zodiac sign?
I don't know my blood type. I am technically a Virgo.

03. What is your height, weight and shoe size?
5'8" or so, 265 lbs. or so, US men's 10.

04. How many people are in your family?
Lots and lots and lots. My mom has six siblings and 20 niblings; I have three siblings, 13 niblings, four sweeties, and several sweeties-in-law, not to mention aunts/uncles, etc.

05. What is one strength/weakness that you possess?
I think I am able to express my appreciation for people in ways they appreciate / I think I am more self-involved than I want to be.

06. What's your motto?
"People living fully have no fear of death." Anais Nin

07. What are your favorite words?
I can't remember the whole West Wing list of words that aren't Yiddish, but should be, but "spatula" is one, and the list always makes me laugh.

08. What kind of animal would you compare yourself to?
I really just never think of myself as an animal in any way. Two of my partners have animal nicknames, and I considered giving myself one, but never got anywhere. Suggestions are welcome, however.

09. What are your hobbies?
Puttering around my house, cooking, reading, playing around in/on email/Usenet/LiveJournal, having company over, making collage walls (I have four collages so far at my place, and am in the planning stages of a fifth).

10. What kind of special talents or abilities do you have?
(I loved [livejournal.com profile] firecat's answer to this!) I am ubertemp -- I am super-good at jumping into a new job and learning quickly, being helpful, and doing office work really really well.

11. Aside from work, what kind of computer do you use, and what software program do you enjoy using the most?
At home, I use an iBook, but I don't yet know how to work in the OSX environment, so I mostly use Eudora and IE (Safari is glitchy for me, and I haven't yet figured out how to get Firefox to run on this computer).

12. About how many email pen-pals do you have?
It varies with my time/energy levels. I have people ([livejournal.com profile] firecat is one, as are [livejournal.com profile] lcohen, [livejournal.com profile] misanthropoid, [livejournal.com profile] kevinkjr, and others) with whom I sometimes exchange tons of email, and other times just a note here and there, over the course of years and years.

13. Did you ever use an ASCII based bulletin board system? Did you ever meet anyone from them?
I messed around with them a little years and years ago when my dad was addicted to them, but really spent very little time there.

14. What is the first thing you do/website you check when you get online?
First I check my email (I check these folders, in order: "LJ", "Inbox", "Wombat", "Poly lists", and then whatever other folders have mail in them), then I check my LJ daily-reading filter. Then, if I have time, I read my whole LJ friends page. Then I check the Meetup page to see if there are new members/RSVPs. Then, if I have a *ton* of time to sit around, I turn on Y!M.

15. Tell us, what's something we should avoid at all costs?
Cruelty.

16. Favorite TV show theme song?
I kinda like the "Malcolm in the Middle" theme, and the "Suddenly Susan" thing is a fave because it's Shawn Colvin, but I'm not sure I have a clear favorite.

17. What is your one favorite Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday/Friday TV Show?
Wednesday: The West Wing. I don't watch TV any other nights -- just West Wing and Lost on Wednesdays.

18. What phrase do you say a lot?
"Love you a lot."

19. What brand of cigarettes got you hooked on cigarettes (if any)?
I have smoked maybe five cigarettes in my whole life, all in the 7th grade.

20. Is there anything you won't/can't stop doing?
No. Eventually, it will all stop. Until then, I will keep living, breathing, loving, feeling, thinking, etc.

21. If you could only eat one type of food for the rest of your life, what would you choose?
Soup, because that covers a lot of ground (nutritionally and culinarily), and I am never not in the mood for soup.

22. What are your favorite drinks?
Water, fresh iced tea, hot tea with milk and sugar, Italian soda, pearl iced tea, foofy coffee drinks, juice -- I like lots of beverages. I will drink soda, but not usually if there are other choices.

23. What is your favorite food, and a food you would like to try but haven't yet?
Sushi, and dragonfruit.

24. What food are you best at cooking?
(I want some of [livejournal.com profile] firecat's pot roast.) I'm not best at a specific food -- I'm best at making a meal out of whatever we have in the house, even if others think we're out of food.

25. What's your favorite kind of flower?
Oh, gosh, I just adore flowers, all of them.

26. Where do you buy most of your clothes?
Honestly, I haven't bought clothes in a long time. I think the last thing I bought was this t-shirt online, because they didn't have my size at the stall at the flea market in Berkeley (and I think that [livejournal.com profile] someotherguy actually may have paid for it).

27. What do you do with clothes that you regret having bought?
Give them away.

28. Has anyone ever given you a ring?
Yes.

29. What brand/service is your cell phone? Also, what song do you use as the ringer?
No cell phone. (And now I have a Cake earworm.)

30. What kind of skin care products do you use?
Stuff without fragrance in them. Kiss My Face soap, unscented Dove, Ivory, etc.

31. Worst childhood Halloween costume?
No idea. Probably a hobo or something.

32. How did you get your first scar?
I fell and banged my chin on the stoop. I was three, and it required six stitches.

33. What was the last color you painted your fingernails?
Red.

34. What kind of perfume/cologne do you like?
I like a few kinds, but fragrances give me a bad headache, so I don't wear any, and in general, my partners avoid them, too.

35. What kind of shampoo, conditioner and other hair care products do you use?
T-gel shampoo -- it's the only stuff that I'm not allergic to. If Almay ever comes out with a scent-free shampoo, I'm so there.

36. Please comment on men's make up?
I'd rather no one felt obligated to wear makeup and that people of all genders felt comfortable wearing makeup if they wanted to as a playful gesture or just because they like it.

37. What is your favorite Shakespearian play?
I liked Zeffirelli's "Romeo and Juliet", but I'm not a big Shakespeare connoisseur, though I've liked most of the plays I've seen.

38. What do you think of guys who tuck polo shirts into their jeans?
I have no opinion about this.

39. It's a bit out of the blue, but here's the Ultimate Choice Series! Based solely on the two choices given. Basically it is picking the lesser of two evils :
- Would you choose a hot, but really poor guy/girl, or an ugly but rich one?
Um, I don't give a fuck about these things (assuming "hot" is being used to mean "not ugly" here, which is so subjective as to be nearly meaningless -- what I find hot, for instance, has very little to do with conventional beauty, or with looks at all). They're not even on the top fifty things around which I choose partners.

- Would you choose a hot, but really stupid guy/girl, or an extremely intelligent but ugly one?
I tend to choose people I find to be smart and hot -- I'm not sure other people would agree with my assessments.

- Would you rather be with someone who you didn't trust, or who didn't trust you?
No.

40. What kinds of things do you think it's really sexy when guys/girls do?
Have a brain, show compassion, be passionate about something. And be competent at something.

41. What kind of person makes you think "He/She really pisses me off!"?
People who are impossible to please, or who think their happiness is my job.

42. There may be many, but what one value/trait would you like to make sure your son or daughter had?
Integrity.

43. What kind of fashion do you think is really uncool? (girl's or guy's)
Dunno.

44. If you could travel back in time and stop yourself from doing 1 thing, what would it be?
Lying to TOTGA about Naked-guy.

45. Which Star Trek crew would you most like to have been a part of?
TNG. Not sure why. Guess there seemed to be the least drama and the most personal agency among that crew, to me. (I have only seen half an episode of "Enterprise", so I'm not including that crew.)

46. It is the year 2020 and your 15 year old child has decided that "goth" is back in style - would you be okay with that?
Sure; why wouldn't I?

47. How long do you spend in the bath/shower?
We don't have a bathtub, but I can spend hours in the bath, refreshing the hot water from time to time. I spend 5-10 minutes in the shower. A *really* long shower for me might last a few minutes longer.

48. Would you have liked to have an identical twin?
Don't know. I would've liked a sister that I actually got along with, but who knows if I would've liked a twin.

49. You can switch bodies with a celebrity for one day - Who would you be? and how would you spend your day?
No, thanks.

50. Army, Navy, Air Force, or Marines?
No.

51. Were you ever in boyscouts/girlscouts?
Yep.

52. What part of yourself makes you think, 'I sure am cute!'?
My eyes. The curve of my hip. My occasional pure glee at silly little things. Sometimes, when I have my hair a certain way, I think I'm gorgeous.

53. When have you thought, 'I'm such a little devil'?
I don't remember ever thinking that.

54. If you could live your life over from any point, when would that be? Why?
I often daydream about starting my first try at college over and trying harder to finish, but I think my life ended up right where I wanted it to, so I don't really want to go change.

55. Have you ever been in a long-distance relationship?
Yes.

56. Do you think love and marriage are separate?
Yes, of course. Not everybody who loves gets married (or can get married), and not everybody who gets married does so for love.

57. What would you do if you turned into a cat for a day?
Freak the fuck out.

58. What would you do if you became invisible for a day?
See #57, but I'd probably eavesdrop/spy on people all day. I'm always wishing I could hear what people say when I'm not around.

59. What TV show do you wish they would put back on the air?
Firefly; Alias (coming in January, from what I understand); Dark Angel.

60. Do you dream in color?
I don't know.

61. Shopping Pride! What's the most expensive thing you've ever bought in your whole life? How much was it?
My recently deceased car. I paid around $12,000 for it, plus interest (so a total of about $14,000).

62. What is the best cure for a broken heart?
Time. Self-care.

63. When was the last time you made someone cry? What did you do?
I don't remember. I think Munchkin the Elder probably cried when zie found out I'd been in an accident and couldn't go visit as soon as we hoped.

64. At what age did you realize you could stand up to your parents?
I remember two clear instances, one at age 14 or so, and one at 23. Both were essential to my development, and both set the stage for adult relationships with my folks.

65. If you had to go to confession - how long would you have to be in the box?
Long enough to say "I don't believe in God or sin, so I'm wasting your time."

66. Next in the Ultimate Choice Series! Your boyfriend/girlfriend suddenly breaks up with you.
Which of the following reasons for the breakup is worse?
"I've fallen in love with your best friend."
"I've fallen in love with my best friend."
Neither. I'm poly, so I don't break up with people because I fall in love with other people, but if someone breaks up with me, whatever reason zie has is good enough. Relationships with me aren't mandatory.

67. What is something you want to buy right now, and have the money to buy?
There is nothing I want to buy right now. I have very little money at the moment, but I have everything I need, and [livejournal.com profile] someotherguy is springing for dinner tonight.

68. It'd be cool to win a lot of money. What would you do if you won $3 million (after taxes) in the lottery?
Pay off my mom's house, then sit down with my partners and decide what to do next.

69. What magazines do you read?
Local free weeklies, whatever is in doctors' waiting rooms -- right now, we don't subscribe to anything or spend the money to pick up magazines at the newsstand.

70. What books have you read recently?
I'm drawing a blank. I'm reading _Red Mars_, but I'm not sure what the last book I read was.

71. How many piercings do you have?
Two in left earlobe, one in right. (Weird. I kept [livejournal.com profile] firecat's answer.)

72. What would you advise people do if trying lose weight?
I don't advise people about losing weight.

73. If you could have one non-domesticated animal become domesticated and own it as a pet, what would it be?
None.

74. How many times a week do you have sex?
Several. Somewhere between five and seven, on average.

75. How do you get rid of body hair?
I sometimes pull out stray black hairs, but mostly I leave the hair on my body where it grows.

76. Is there any hair growing on the top of your feet?
Yeah, on my toes, but not a lot.

77. Minimally, how long should you know someone before you can say that you've fallen in love with them?
For me, "should" doesn't enter into it. With TOTGA, I knew after a long evening's conversation (six hours? eight?). With cute-poet-chick, it was weeks. With Naked-guy, I think I would've fallen in love quickly if there hadn't been lots of reasons not to. With other people, it's taken days to months.

78. Do you think you have a split personality?
No.

79. What color is most of your underwear?
Black or red.

80. What song has a special memory for you?
Ohmigosh, I was just thinking about this. I was wondering how long it would take me to make a list of songs that makes me get all schmoopy about cute-poet-chick, and I lost count after a dozen or so. There were so so so many songs that were "our song". It is anyone's guess from hour to hour whether one of them will make me get all sweetly sentimental or reduce me to body-wracking sobs.

81. Besides money/credit cards, what do you carry in your purse/wallet?
Membership cards, old receipts, keys, checkbook, date book (that I never look into or make entries into), sometimes a tube of sunscreen, a memory card with pictures of Munchkin The Elder's eighth-grade graduation, a pen (sometimes).

82. What do you treasure most?
My mind.

83. Do you believe in the existence of god(s)?
No.

84. You're walking along the beach and stumble upon a bottle. You rub the bottle and a genie appears. He grants you 1 wish. What would it be?
I have no idea, and it makes my brain hurt to contemplate this, so I usually don't try.

85. What do you do to lift your spirits when you feel like nothing good is happening?
Ask one or more of my partners to hold me while I cry.

86. What blood type can you not stand? (have bad compatibility with) Why?
Huh?

87. What would you do if you met a person who was just like you?
I married him.

88. What do you want to be when you grow up?
I've grown up already, and I'm fairly happy with who and what I am.

89. When do you think of yourself as a genius?
Hm. Usually when I'm goofing off, but sometimes I write stuff that makes me feel like I am very smart (not that often, but sometimes).

90. When was the last time you got pissed off?
Hmm. I don't remember. I was irritated at a cow-irker this weekend, but not so far as to be pissed off.

91. What made you happy recently?
<censored>

92. Which one of your friends do you not understand at all?
If I don't understand someone at all, they're not my friend. But there are specific things about each of my friends that I don't understand.

93. Tell us about a time recently, when you looked stupid for having thought something wrong.
The cow-orker I was shadowing told me it was time for our 30-minute break, when it was only time for the 10-minute one, and the boss corrected us.

94. Make up a word and definition.
I don't wanna.

95. Do you think guys and girls can be friends?
Duh.

96. Share the three most painful experiences of your life.
They all involve feeling helpless in the face of a loved one's pain.

97. You are one of the Greek gods - which one are you?
No idea.

98. If the world was going to end in one week, what would you spend that week doing?
Exactly what I'm doing this week -- hanging around my house, seeing friends who have time to see me, making love, talking with my sweeties, cooking -- stuff I love to do.

99. How often do you write poetry?
Whenever I'm inspired to do so, which varies from several times a day to once every few months.

100. It's the 100th question! Say one last thing! (if you can, you must be tired of answering these)
The dolphin flies at midnight.
