Ahhhh.

Day off yesterday. Most of the day off today. Pleasant, four-hour shift at Ikea. I'm ready for whatever comes tomorrow. Potentially, I could have two fourteen-hour days in a row again, but with lots of rest beforehand, so I'm ready. And then Saturday off.

Life is good.

the dangerous center
in view of the thickening at the shore,
but not close enough to save herself,
she tries to think light,
make herself air,
lift herself just far enough off the ice
to keep her weight from crashing her through

she could move toward the edge

knows her name
it keeps her skin all goose-bumped
and her heart aflutter
it makes her feel like there's something to lose

and when there's nothing to lose
you might as well sink to the bottom of the cold, cold lake
