By the way,
Sep. 5th, 2005 04:17 am...a few notes:
I think there's probably more to share, but who can think when it's time for the antihistimines again?
Good night, people. Hope you can find your joy in all this sorrow these days. I'm doing my best to remember my joy in these hard times, and if I can be of help to you, please shout.
- I'm not sure if I made it clear what a HUGE deal it is that I snagged Daphne Gottlieb and Charlie Anders for the reading. I bounce just thinking about it. Yay!
- Having a cold means never having to wonder what a wounded cartoon seal sounds like.
- I found a download for The Fool's Errand! Now if I can figure out how to use the emulator...
- My mom bought me two new pairs of shoes! (One for walking, one for work.) My mom rocks.
- My not-so-secret wishes for this Thursday: That
sogwife will come and read; that
klwalton will come and read; that
golden_c_turtle will come and read... and so on. The three of them have heard my genuine delight in finding out what talent they have, and there are others of you that my cold-addled brain isn't putting its finger on, so to speak. Come and read! Pretty please? - I have such good partners, who have been taking such good care of me. I'm so lucky.
- Bookcase! Yay! The first one has atheism/philosophy on the top shelf and nutso religious propaganda on the bottom. I couldn't be happier.
someotherguy and I shared a whole bowl of our very own tomatoes. They were sweet and ripe and delicious. The whole tomato garden cost us about $8 (free containers, $8 worth of soil and food, and free seeds). I think they've given us many times that much joy.- Birthday Party for me and
dryadgrl in Dimond Park on Saturday, 9/17. We have a smaller budget than we'd planned, but we still plan to have a blowout fun time, and we would love to see you. Send me email if you need more details (the time should be decided by tomorrow).

Date: 2005-09-04 10:04 am (UTC)See-achoo!-ster! My -- sniffle -- nose started acting up big time (sniff) yesterday, and when I got back in from -- achoo! -- sailing, my eyes had started itching, too.
I'm taking (sniff) loratadine for it, but it's still not quite stopping it. Bleah.
Achoo!
Anyway, I hope you feel better soon. Sniffle. Stupid pollen....

Date: 2005-09-04 04:55 pm (UTC)My version of the Great American Novel that I need to write before I die is Sisyphus, which would be highly imitative of TFE. Really need to get on that, being at midlife now as I am.

Date: 2005-09-05 04:40 am (UTC)On the birthday-party topic: I am tempted to try to make it up, but I've really no idea whether I'll have the energy or how busy I'll be...but regardless, can I contribute anything, food-wise or otherwise?
Hope you feel better soon!

Date: 2005-09-05 06:42 am (UTC)The reading will be weekly (except third Thursdays, which someone else is hosting), but I'm hoping for a big turnout especially on September 8th, this Thursday, to give the owner a good feeling about the potential of the thing. Signups start at 6:30; open reading (spoken word) from 7-9ish. Free coffee for the first ten people who take me up on it. Free chance to see Serene play emcee. Good (organic, free trade) coffee and lots of food. http://www.nomadcafe.net
