This doesn't wanna post via email, so here it is for the fourth time. Hope it doesn't come through in quadruplicate:

cheese feast thanks to [livejournal.com profile] tenacious_snail, who also brought us cinnamon chocolate, the only kind of chocolate I really like, besides chocolate milk.

Two pics of the dragonfruit [livejournal.com profile] someotherguy and I bought on impulse and got at least the $3 it cost out of it in joy.

Two pics of another recent feast.

More later. Gotta go stir the caponata. [ETA: I accidentally sent this post to the wrong address, and am just posting it now, though I wrote it earlier. The caponata was stirred, and birthday-partiness was had. More later. Really.]

Oooh, I like your idea of feasting. Little bowls of many-flavored nibbles are my idea of a good time!

It started when I was with cute-poet-chick and we would have "hors d'oeuvre feasts". We would buy every silly little frozen appetizer in the store (well, you know) and have mini-quiches and taquitos and mushroom puffs, etc. for dinner. Or sometimes we would have a drive-through hors d'oeuvre feast -- jack-in-the-box egg rolls and tacos, etc. It was fun!

Dragonfruit! That's what it's called in English!! Yay!! I bought one of those in Vienna and it was delicious (and cool-looking), but it was called something else, and I hadn't been able to figure out what its name was over here. Thanks!

Ours wasn't delicious -- it was bland and not bad, but beautiful, so we still loved it. :-) It was like a very weak kiwi flavor with the seediness of a fig.
