First Best Friend: Tammy Andersen, who is a year older than I, and her mom
and mine met while my mom was pregnant with me, so we always said we'd
been best friends since before I was born.
First Kiss: Tony something, at ROTC camp

First Pet: Slowpoke, a turtle (surelars, you've *never* had a
pet??)
First Piercing: ears, age 7
First Crush: Alex Will (full name John Alex Will), who was four years,
five months, and twelve days older than I, was the son of my piano
teacher, and played the trumpet with the most beautiful lips. My mom
found a letter I wrote to Tammy (see First Best Friend, above) claiming he
was my boyfriend, and she humiliated me about it in front of her bridge
friends. Blech.
First Music: Mom singing. She sang to us all the time. She gave us each
our own songs that she would sing only to us. Mine was "You and Me
Against the World," and it still feels that way sometimes.
First Car: An old Maverick my mom bought with $400 she couldn't afford.
