Un-wintering
Mar. 7th, 2006 02:33 pmClearly, the winter is over in my body. I'm actually grateful to the Bay Area for teaching me seasons. We don't really have them in San Diego.
Signs that I am spring-ish:
1) I'm SO excited about the community garden; did I mention that?
2) I'm also excited about Food Not Bombs and Freeskool, both of which I plan to drop in on during my next days off. I'm feeling outward. All winter I felt inward. Y'know?
3) Part of why I can un-winter is that I've cut down on how much I'm trying to do in a week, from work to personal pursuits. This is a GOOD thing, and I'm not gonna let my current energy shoot me in the foot. I'm staying with my one-thing-a-day guideline for the foreseeable future, because it's really working for me.
4) I've been having so much fun watching
someotherguy do his current geeky project, and now I want a geeky project. I think I'm gonna go ahead and learn PHP so I can put an interactive calendar on my website. I know I can pick up or buy the code, but I think it would be a fun thing to do for myself, and I can use the programming skills. Gonna do the PHP tutorial I started on last year; it was easy to understand.
