What a day
Jan. 13th, 2010 10:49 pmSome great stuff, some not so:
1) Got in to work early. The great-grandboss called me in to see if I'd be willing to work more hours. At the Best Job Ever. Um, yes.
2) Boss's computer was borked, and between calls to my mom, internet research, and consultation with someone else on campus (because our own IT person is furloughed indefinitely), I got it running long enough to run the report I needed. Great-grandboss: "Is there anything you can't do?"
3) Dinner with my very dear friend who makes me feel like it's okay to be my awkward, socially inept self, because who I am is just fine with her.
4) Ultrasound on my neck (yes, after dinner), which didn't hurt (a first), during which the following conversation occurred:
5) Cab ride home to spare me walking on my bad foot. I liked the door-to-door service and the reasonable price. I disliked the new social situation after a long day.
6) Cried on my boyfriend for a good long time, not because of any particular trauma or anything, but because I'm JUST. So. Tired. of dealing with cancer -- my own and my family's -- and I want it to STOP.
7) [Redacted]
So really, not a bad day, but a lot to take emotionally, y'know?
Now's the part where you tell me about your day, because I really would love to know how it went.

"What's that red and blue stuff?" "Oh, that's looking for blood flow. See, this is your carotid artery, and over there, that's your jugular." "Cool. And what are the circle things you just measured?" "Oh, I can't give you any results. I mean, the doctor's not here. I mean, I *think* they're lymph nodes, but I'm not a doctor. Sorry. I mean, I just can't give results. Sorry."
