Jul. 7th, 2006 07:56 pm[no Bay Area filter, sorry, but if you're going to be in the Bay Area on July 23rd, check it out!]
I remember how fun it was, when I was young and broke, to have work parties. Moving parties, painting parties, yardwork parties. It's how we hippies got things done, and we got our friends there with offers of pizza and beer.
Well, I have something better to offer: Food and drinks from
klwalton and me. Come help us finish the interior paint job on her house, and we'll feed you! (that is, I'll help if she'll let me)
Way back in February, there was water dripping from the ceiling. After much construction, including asbestos removal, she's rightfully tired of having her house look like a wreck, and would like to finish up this here getting-her-house-back thing.
Wanna help?
Comment here or at her post about it, if you're free the afternoon/evening of the 23rd. If you need a ride from nearly anywhere in town, I can probably provide it, or one of us can pick you up at the Fremont BART.
If you remember how fun work parties can be, or if you want to see how hard you can work and laugh at the same time, this is your chance to live it, and help one of my dearest friends in the bargain.
