I really should be in bed
Jul. 16th, 2006 11:04 pmBut first, a quick report on my lovely day:
1) Mom is fine, and she's home now, yay!
2) Lovely time at
baby_fly's shower. It feeds my soul to see
klwalton. It warms my heart to see
eeyore_grrl, whose smile makes me think things will be all right, even when she and I are both tired and sad. And I can't tell you how grateful I am for
loracs's friendship. I don't even have the words.
3) Oh, and there never was a more beautiful pregnant woman than
cassidyrose, but hey, I was really most impressed with her good humor. Here was a woman who is eight months pregnant, keepng her good mood (fake as it may have been) in 100 degree heat, for three hours. The woman deserves a medal.
4) Viking Chicken Baby Hat. Yeah, four words that don't exactly go together.
5)
loracs dropped me off at home, where I simultaneously realized that (a) my partners weren't home; and (b) I hadn't brought my keys with me. I went for a walk to the local coffeeshop, about three-quarters of a mile away. They were closing up early. I headed back home. I was ready to cry with exhaustion because I had no way to get into my house and sit down, and
someotherguy came along and rescued me. Yay!
6) Walked with my rescuer to the coffeeshop, then watered the plants, which are doing just peachily. I should've taken my camera, as there are some new-and-gorgeous flowers blooming in the shade of my apple tree.
7) Made vegetarian "chicken" parmagiana and broccoli for dinner, which I joked were to counteract the forty-seven pounds of meat I ate at brunch, oy. Good thing I walked four miles today.
8) Another walk, to the drugstore this time, complete with the requisite listing of all the joyful things in my day. I'm really lucky.
9) Watched an episode and a half of The West Wing while putting away laundry.
10) I'm worrying about my friends with families in the Middle East. I'm worrying about people I don't have any connection to in the Middle East. I'm dying of curiosity about what's going to happen at work tomorrow (details when I can give them). And I'm just tired enough to laugh at how caffeinated I am.
