Proud of myself
Sep. 19th, 2006 04:47 pmLast week: Paid off doctor bill (small, but annoyingly hanging over my head)
Today: Paid off gas credit card and cut it up. (Hey,
cancelled the card, so cut yours up, too, 'kay?)
All that remains for me, debt-wise, is a few thousand dollars on a student
loan (that's up to date and paying automatically out of my checking
account) and several hundred dollars we owe my mom for bailing us out when
I had some serious money stuff going on.
paying that off quickly, and it'll be paid off within another month if
things go as well as they're going right now. (
forgave a small loan he made to me. I think I'll still ask if I can work
it out in trade.)
I don't make much money (I made around $15K last year), and I live in a
high-cost-of-living area of the country.
Yet I'm nearly debt-free. Yes, it's taken help from friends and family to
get here. Yes, it means I live without things that I might want. But
damn, I'm so proud of myself.
Now to start working on a prudent reserve so I can stop asking for
handouts when I run out of cash.
Still, yay!

Okie Dokie. I think it's still in the hopefully-soon-to-be-refunct Mazda.
What do you mean "refunct" isn't a word? ;)
