The cinnamon rolls were only moderately successful. Even after a fair bit more time than the recipe called for, they didn't brown much at all. They're not bad, but I'm going to search for some other recipes and see if I can find one I like.

[Edit: [livejournal.com profile] someotherguy says they're perfect, so that's what counts. I don't particularly like even good cinnamon rolls, so I'm no judge. :-)]

If you brush them with a yolk and water glaze, and then turn on the broiler for a few minutes at the end of the bake time, you will get a gorgeous brown.

A Pennsylvania variety of cinnamon rolls are called 'Sticky Buns'. As one might guess, the sugary part is meant to remain sticky. Maybe the recipe you used was actually of that school?
Anyway, he liked 'em; you don't care. So why do you care?
Heh. In search of the perfect buns---

Last time I made cinnamon buns I used this recipe (http://www.domesticgoddess.ca/recipes.php?recipe=10167), and I'm pretty sure they came out really nicely. I veganized the recipe and it still worked just fine, too.

That's one of those bizarre Noam Chomsky statements, isn't it? I mean, it has the structure of a sentence, but those words cannot logically be put together.
