Thanks to tracytreefrog, mackenzie, and jwermont for coming over and keeping us crafty company. I made some progress on the scarf I'm knitting (pics if I think of it), and we ate massive quantities of no-knead bread, chili, and kettle corn. I'm happy.

Oh, and while we're talking about crafting, thanks so much to wild_irises for my first knitting lessons, and to sogwife, for the further lessons in a book, and for the yarn and needles. You two have no idea how happy it makes me that I can knit. I've always wanted to be able to.

Oh, you lucky woman! I am the knitting failure of the world. People have tried to teach me, yet I fail each time. I'm glad you were able to learn it and i hope you'll enjoy the hobby! yay!

If you ever do decide to try again, and I'm not saying you should, you might take a look at Stitch & Bitch. It really did for me what no in-person lessons have done, which is help me see why things are the way they are in clear language and visuals. (Their casting-on method seems overhard to me, but I had luckily learned an easier way from wild_irises. Happy to teach you if you ever want.)
