I really hate LJ's new update page. For one thing, it makes the print I'm typing illegibly small. Grr.

Aborted attempt to help

sogwife move today, followed by brunch together, followed by a walk to the store. I got very little sleep last night (emotional stuff, plus getting up early for the move), and after this really hard week, that's left me extremely tired and a little emotional, but not too bad. I will finish my volunteer editing job tonight, and work on scheduling my upcoming contracts.

Speaking of work, this latest few great gigs are just the thing I've needed to allow me to essentially "quit my day job" and go for this full-time. I'm pleased and proud, and I'm really glad I have clients and friends who have confidence in my competence.

Tofu is baking in the oven. I've been vegan since the day after Thanksgiving, and it's really working out. I am not missing meat, nor am I missing that heartbeat nonsense that was making me miserable. Since the end of November, it's happened once (today, as it happens) and that lasted a few minutes. Before Thanksgiving, it was happening ten or twelve times a day, sometimes badly enough to make me feel faint. It was scary, and I'm glad it seems to be nearly gone. It may be a coincidence, but I'll take it. Plus, given a choice between a burger and a plate of curried veggies and potatoes, I'll take the latter nearly any day.

Tomorrow, I'm going to

stonebender's. Then I work Monday -- the last day at my unloved temp job. And then -- then -- then I'm a freelancer for real. Happy, happy serene.
