That commute

Thanks for all your input, folks. For those who care, I made an executive decision to maximize my sleep and leave as late as I felt it was reasonable (for one thing, I was going to far-north San Jose; for another, we'd left a wiiiiiide window of acceptable on-timeness, since their plane doesn't leave until 12:45 and we were to meet at 8:30 for breakfast. I figured if I was an hour later than planned, we could just skip breakfast.)

Anyway, here's the stats:

7:05am -- left the house and went to get gas
7:15am -- left North Oakland
8:15am -- arrived at the hotel, parked, and got to the lobby by 8:20

So a little over an hour, including gas and parking. Not bad, I'd guess. There were some traffic jams, but nothing too horrible.
