Just wrote this in lieu of a bio for my profile, which was looking all goofy with all those little widgets in there. Anyway, here it is:

I am in love with myself
I am in love with my world
and my lovers and all that is in me
and you. I love you, whether or not we've met.
And sometimes
by the light of the flatscreen glow
I feel like I can touch you
and I know that you have touched me

Bloggers are self-involved, they say
bring laundry-lists of minutiae to a readership of two:
the blogger and her mother.

My mother doesn't read my blog. My mother
(while she loves me -- dotes on me)
is too busy living her frenetic life to stop and spend an hour
to read about what I made for dinner.
So instead, I call her and tell her while she stirs the pasta,
and tends the children that I left behind,
and I describe every morsel to you,
and a part of me is healed.

I'm so bleary right now that everything is coming out a little strange -- with this I was assuming at first that it was a bio you were sending out with poetry submissions, but then things registered. Maybe you should send out a poem for your bio anyway! (Or maybe you already do.)
